About Region B

Region B covers a large geographic area which includes Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland.  We are one of the largest regions within EC4WDA.

Our history dates back over 35 years when many individual clubs joined together to form EC4WDA.  We currently have 19 clubs in the region and a total membership of approximately 400 to 500 at any given time.

Our spring and fall meetings are currently held at the Kempton Rod & Gun Club, Kempton, PA as well as our post season awards banquet and holiday party.

Region B has a long history of Jeep® racing, which is still ingrained to this very day (many still refer to it as EC4WDA Jeep racing).  However, EC4WDA and Region B welcome all types of 4WD vehicles, but we still like to keep it ‘just’ 4WD vehicles.  However there are some optional 2WD classes in our dirt drag racing which can be allowed at the discretion of the hosting club of an event.

Most of our competitive events are held in the state of Pennsylvania, however a long time event has also been held in Delaware.  Our racing season usually consists of 8 to 9 races beginning in May and ending in September.  EC4WDA racing includes men, women and children in multiple divisions and classes which are based on a point scale which is roughly based on power to weight ratio.

One of Region B’s clubs, The Line Mountain Four Wheelers, also hosts several non-EC4WDA sanctioned events during the year including the running of the 7 Miler, a 7 mile multiple lap obstacle race which is commonly referred to as ‘the toughest obstacle course race in the eastern US’.

Many Region B clubs and members also enjoy both organized and individual trail riding.  We also support Tread Lightly and other off road initiatives.  Region B has several noteworthy Off Road Parks located within it’s geographical boundaries.  Paragon AP and Rausch Creek ORP are both located in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania.

Region B welcomes new 4WD clubs to join both our region and EC4WDA.  New clubs are nominated at the spring or fall meetings and must be sponsored by an existing club.  There is certain criteria a club must meet to be eligible for membership in EC4WDA, such as having officers, delegates, and a minimum number of members in addition to other administrative requirements.  Please contact the Region Membership Secretary or any other Region Officer for information on becoming a Region B member club.

You must be a member of EC4WDA to compete in any EC4WDA sanctioned events.  If you do not wish to join a region club, individual memberships are available from the EC4WDA membership secretary.
